I'm Alex Wallace, founder and dog photographer for The Dogs By Alex, combining my love for dog training and behaviour with beautiful dog portrait photography.

A smiling man with a beard and wavy hair holding a puppy that is licking his face outdoors. There are trees, houses, and parked vehicles in the background, all in black and white.
Two children walking with a dog along a residential sidewalk lined with flowers, houses, and parked cars.

Growing up in a dog-loving family, they’ve always been part of my life from day one. We adopted our own rescue Jed when I was a young boy, I volunteered in a number of rescue centres, fostered and finally adopted my own boy Ludo in mid 2018. Five years later my other rescue Norah arrived.

I come from a portrait photography background (www.alexwallace.co), working for advertising, PR and editorial companies. Now applying my style to dog portraiture I aim to create stylish and characterful photographs of our canine pals.

My dog training has come from years of working with rescue dogs and through continuous study. My aim is to develop a close-knit bond between dogs and their owners - one that’s clear, fun, balanced, and built on trust and love. There’s something really special about seeing dog and owners totally in sync, and through clear direction and practice I believe can be reached by anyone.
